Piggy's America V-New York City

March 16/April 13-14/May 21/June 1, 2007, Philadelphia - New York City: 93.6 miles

March 16, 2007:

Planed to go company trek to NYC on March 16, 2007, but due to the thunderstorm on that day, the school canceled this trip. However I still took Chinatown bus and went there...

The weather was not that bad when I just arrived, but the ice still hurt, and i could nearly not raise my head...Kind of walk around, thanks Garrett for guiding or I would definitely get lost, subway system was horrible in NY...Met up with Rodney and Gab for lunch in a korean restaurant, awesome food though...

April 13-14, 2007:

The school rescheduled the company trek of couple of companies, but I just signed up for Google--I love Google! You can tell that I used almost all Google's services: gmail, blogger, calender, reader, lab, video, picassa...lol--so I had pretty much free time~

Thought to go to the Empire Building with Claudia after visiting Google, but there were so many people there, and we should wait for at least 2 hours, and we were in suits, kind of cold, and weird for visiting:P...so we went back to Garrett's place, had a rest, and went out to meet up with the rest of the group at the bar. Since we decided to stay in New York, we were keeping drinking: finished couple of vodka in the bar, and went to an underground japanese sake place...when we got out of there, we were all completely drunk...

3 drunken people crashed into a sex shop, the seller was so warm--she presented us her favorite "tongue" and made us tried some other "toys"...Honestly that tongue was really cool, but it was so embarrasing when she acted like that, even she said to me "Come on, that's sex! You can share with the others, you can share with yourself too!"...Oh my God!~Also there are some glass ones, they said they can keep temperature, and can be put into the frig and microwave...that was funny~!^o^!

It was already midnight when we got out there, lovely New York, we could still find food at that time~So we went to a Japanese restaurant, and got some "boxes food"--they were nice, but after drinking all those mixed alcolhol without eating, my stomach was not so good, Ugh!

When we went back, it was 3 in the morning again~Woke up at 10:30 the next day, head still hurt a bit, and stomach was still not that good:(...we walked Daisy to Central Park, Daisy is so cute~~~~~ !!!!

Took Daisy back, we went to Chinatown for Dim-sum--Chinatown in New York is just like China, even many stores and restaurants only have Chinese caracter on the board, I don't know how those Americans can understand~!and almost everything we can find in China, we can find in New York...Awesome!

After lunch, we went to the Union Square, there was a market fair on that day, with drawings, paintings, pictures, some other art stuff as well as food, flowers etc. Not too big, but nice, and it reminded me France...especially that morning in Apt on our way to Marseilles:)

Also I got my favorite "Relativity" for $2.71 in the bookstore, haha, cool!

Time for Philadelphia...Tour continues...

May 21, 2007

About the time for Tokyo, so I went to New York with Subash, Tamara and Farok for our Visa for Japan~ When we finished everything at the embassy, it was already 12:30 p.m., so we went to time square for lunch...

I went to the Empire State Building after lunch--maybe because of the week day, there were not so many people, so i went up nearly without waiting. $18 up to 86th floor, and +$15 if wanna go to 102th floor--kind of expensive, but since the 102th floor was only inside observation, it's really not worthing $15 more, so I just went up to 86th, and it was already nice enough! Could see the whole New York clearly, and even could see New Jersey! Very Awesome view...

Enough for the day...and next time I'll go to say Hi to the Liberty Statue! Hahaha...!!!
June 1, 2007
It was my favorite holiday--Children's Day~=)...even though I was not a little child any more, every year I always used "still one week left to get older, let me spend my holiday!" as an excuse to celebrate this "special" day with lovely candies and lollipops~^o^!
I went the the M&M's World at Time Square and got some M&M's, even if I'm not fan of M&M's, since it's cute, that's fine for Children's day!~ Went the embassy and got my Japanses Visa, and it was time to realize my last dream for New York--Liberty Statue.
Actually, Liberty Statue belongs to New Jersey, but people always think that it is in New York... I took the boat at the end of the subway station in Manhattan, and left for Liberty Statue Island and Ellis Island--so romantic taking the boat there by myself...lol...
The whole island belongs to this statue, it is bigger than the one in Paris though~!and the skyline of Manhattan looks nice from the Island...Said Goodbye to the Liberty Statue, I continued the boat trip to Ellis Island, looks like one station of the earliest immigrations, but I'm really not so interested in such sort of stuff...so just took a little tour, bought some postcards, and found a seat: had a drink and wrote my postcards...hehe...
Left the island, I went back to Mahattan, and back to Philly...
4 times visited New York, at last I finished my dreams of this city: walked through the busy Manhattan, visited the famous Time Square, went up to the Empire State Building, and said Hi to the Liberty Statue...Life is complete! Yeah!
